Much-loved freemium game Pocket Planes is now out on Android - ready to ruin your weekend with its dangerously addictive nature.

It comes from NimbleBit, creator of Tiny Tower, and puts you in charge of a burgeoning airline empire.

You start out with a tiny prop plane at a podunk airstrip, but you'll soon command entire fleets of jumbo jets in transport routes that stretch across entire continents.

You also get to customise your planes and pilots, trade parts with pals, team up in monster group events, and compare your stats on the game's leaderboards.

When the game launched on iOS earlier this year we called it "a perfect example of a freemium game done well," and described it as "an addictive time sink that sucks you into its simple routines and refuses to let go".

The Android version comes courtesy of Mobage, so you'll need a Mobage or Facebook account to play. It's a free download, but you can of course pay extra, inside the app, for extra premium currency.

Before you take off - why not check out our guide to airports, planes, layovers, and profits.
