Can't wait to see my cat, lads

It's the end of the week, and before I pack up my bags and head to my parent's house to steal all their food and cuddle their cat, there's just time to round-up the best articles from around the Steel Media network.

I'm not lying about the parent's house thing either. Time is of the essence here. So let's jump right in!

148Apps

Harry gets a lot of praise over at Pocket Gamer for his wonderous work on TableTap and his weekly Hot Takes which never fail to crack a smile, but over on 148Apps he's been doing wonderful work looking at whether Mario Kart Tour can "save" Nintendo's mobile business.

"Don't get me wrong, Mario Kart Tour could well prove to be an amazing experience - I for one really hope it is, because the App Store has been lacking a great karting game for far too long – but it doesn't feel like the sort of release that's going to finally cement the systems and monetization options that Nintendo needs to use to succeed," he writes.

"It feels very much like Nintendo is still playing the same hand it did with Miitomo, chucking things out there in order to see what sticks in a world it doesn't really understand yet. And because it's Nintendo, and there's such a large gap between games, that experimentation is getting a little bit long in the tooth."

AppSpy

Trust Christian to find something we apparently missed – namely some gameplay of Platinum Games' upcoming mobile foray World of Darkness.

The video gives a bit more of an insight into what players will actually be doing in the game, while showing off Platinum's own brand of gorgeous graphics which can't be replicated elsewhere. Good stuff.

Another week, another collection of lovely videos with James at the helm, and there's plenty out there to check out.

For our money, give the Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth review a watch, largely because the game costs close to £20 to buy and you'll want to know what you're getting into before you buy.

Otherwise, you should also watch the review for Might & Magic: Elemental Guardians, because that game is actually properly gorgeous – you should probably download it too, to be honest.
