SCE CEO Kaz Hirari has told Japanese press that the PlayStation Suite might extend beyond Android in the future.

“We're focusing first on Android,” Hirari told the roundtable of local media. “There's also Windows, iOS and so forth, but we don't have the resources to make it compatible with everything from the start."

PS Suite is a collection of PlayStation classics and original games that will be appearing on new Android devices this year. Sony will work with hardware manufacturers to ensure that newly made phones will run the games, and work with developers to test and curate the original games.

The company will open up a PlayStation Store on qualifying phones, and offer up its own selection of carefully selected games. So far, the only devices confirmed to be receiving the Suite are the NGP and an unconfirmed selection of Android 2.3 handsets.

On Android, the initiative will focus first on smartphones. The games publisher has its eye on tablet devices, and eventually even Google TV. That will be decided “if adoption rate increases, or if it will help push adoption greatly."
