Much like the Enhanced Editions of the Baldur's Gate games and Icewind Dale, Planescape: Torment will feature a remastered soundtrack, an updated interface, and other improvements chosen by the game's original lead writer/designer Chris Avellone.

Planescape: Torment: Enhanced Edition will be coming to iOS and Android on April 11th.

Between Knights of the Old Republic, Baldur's Gate, and Icewind Dale, mobile has been graced with a fair number of classic RPGs. But ask any genre enthusiast, and the name Planescape: Torment would likely be in that list. Unfortunately Planescape hasn't made its way to mobile yet, but that might be changing.

A mysterious countdown has appeared on a site specifically about Planescape, set to end on Tuesday. While that alone wouldn't indicate a possible mobile version, publisher Beamdog is also spreading the word about this countdown.

Beamdog was the publisher behind the enhanced editions of both Baldur's Gates and Icewind Dale, so their involvement implies a potentially similar treatment for Planescape: Torment.

Planescape: Torment is a critically acclaimed RPG first released in 1999, that drops the player into the surreal multi-dimensional city of Sigil. While its Infinity Engine brethren were heavily focused on combat, words were your weapons in Planescape. Novels worth of text allowed for complex dialogue and myriad choices at your disposal when interacting with NPCs.

We'll keep you updated on this if more details appear throughout the weekend and when the countdown ends on Tuesday.
