Pixel Soldier is a slick retro arcade shooter heading to Android soon

Pixel Soldier may look like a relic from an older era, but its fast-paced and fluid combat should feel right at home among Android shooters.

Every stage in Pixel Soldier is a tight confined arena, rectangular, circular, or otherwise, where a large array of enemies and traps emerge to destroy you. From flocks of birds and bees that unleash bombs and bullets to massive saws that travel along the edge of the arena, you have to always be ready to react and evade in a split second to survive.

A wide variety of weaponry is at your disposal, including ricocheting rapid-fire, short range spread shot, laser blasts, and more. But your agility is your greatest strength; your character is unmoored from gravity, letting you race along walls and ceilings, or dash from one side of the arena to the other.

This both means you can dodge quickly and accurately, and that enemies can bombard you with bullet hell amount of projectiles, with just enough time and space for you to dash out of the way.

Pixel Soldier is slated to release on Android and PC; you currently can play a browser demo on the game's itch.io page.
