Smoking Gun Interactive has announced an upcoming fright of a game titled Phobies, coming to both iOS and Android devices (and on Steam) later this year. The strategy game features over 120 monsters for players to collect and upgrade, along with a very distinct art style that's definitely creepy yet pleasing to the eye.

Phobies lets players upgrade and battle their collection of titular creatures while strategising the best use of each Phobie's skills and abilities. Combat is on a hex-based battlefield where players will have to hold a few Panic Point objectives to succeed. It also features an Async Battle Mode with full cross-play support between PC and mobile.

No two matches are alike as players experiment and figure out the best combinations in their roster of Phobies. The Arena Battle Mode also scratches that itch to duke it out with other like-minded individuals via PvP. It also seems like the beautifully creepy characters make everything from sentient chemical flasks to regular ol' bats an absolute joy to collect, upgrade, and battle.

For instance, there's a Phobie named Sheeping Gas, who can unleash some toxic fumes for devastating AOE damage while looking deceptively fluffy at the same time.

Eager to dive into the realm of the subconscious? There isn't much to go on at the moment, but you can take a quick stroll through Smoking Gun Interactive's official website to have a look at their latest offerings. You can also visit the official website of Phobies for more info, or join the community of followers over on Discord to stay updated on all the latest developments.
