Out now: Pac-Man Championship Edition DX brings pellets and pounding beats to Android and iOS

After almost a year in soft-launch as a free-to-play title, Pac-Man Championship Edition DX has launched on Android and iOS, and it's now a premium app.

Yes, gone are the free-to-play trappings that plagued the original soft-launch. No more wait timers, no more IAPs. Just pure, ridiculous, Pac-Man action.

If you've not played this style of Pac-Man before, it's a twist on the classic that focuses on timed high-score attack modes.

Pac-Man CE DX

You have to navigate the maze, waking up sleeping ghosts to create a train behind you that you can eventually eat all of for massive points.

The game speeds up as you play, making it harder to navigate the maze but also increasing your point scoring opportunities.

And it's all set in a bright, neon world with pounding techno beats to get your blood pumping as you snack on those pellets.

Pac-Man CE DX

We gave the original Pac-Man Championship Edition our Gold Award, with our reviewer calling it "a definitive version of Pac-Man."

So chances are the DX version is even better. You can grab it from Google Play for £3.84 / $4.99 or on the App Store for £3.99 / $4.99.
