Out There initially released six years ago but that hasn't stopped developer Mi-Clos Studio from adding some new content to keep the game fresh. It's called The Alliance update and you can get it for free on both iOS and Android now.

The update has previously been released on Switch and brings a whole host of updates and new features to the game. This includes:

  • 30 interactive stories
  • 3 new spaceships
  • 1 new ending
  • 1 new technology called The Cocoon
  • Additional achievements
  • New starting spaceships
  • A new mechanic called Alien Escort
  • 16 new landscapes

So, quite a few new things to discover as you play through the game then. There are a few technical changes too, such as making the game compatible with iPhone X screens alongside optimisation for more recent Android and Apple phones in general.

It's great to see developers continuing to update their games a fairly long time after its initial release. Particularly since Mi-Clos is currently working on a sequel called Out There: Oceans of Time, which looks to build on the original games various systems.

There's still no word on a release date of Oceans of Time but we'll be sure to keep you updated whenever we know more. In the meantime, you can see a smattering of the game in the trailer below. It doesn't show much honestly, but what we do get a glimpse of certainly looks very pretty.

Speaking of which, if you've never played the original you can currently pick it up either iOS or Android for a notable 75% off. If you're still not sure if you want to part with a dollar for Out There and would like to find out more about the game, check out Harry's review from when the game released in 2014.

Out There Omega Edition is available now on the App Store and Google Play. It's a premium game that is currently available for $0.99.
