Meditate on the cosmic orbits of arcade dodger Orbitum, out now on Android
Enchanting
If a concentric, meditative arcade dodger is your kind of thing, Android players, then have a look at Orbitum.
Happymagenta says it had a few problems with getting this Bronze Award-winner running across all Android devices, but all bugs have now been fixed.
It's a small game that provides both a challenge and a relaxing gameplay loop with which to occupy your time.
You a white dot being sucked into a black hole in the middle of the screen. You have to hop up the various orbits that it sucks in, as if you were travelling up a circular treadmill.
Easy enough. However, there are deadly red triangles constantly descending on your position that you'll need to dodge.
There are also green hexagons to aim for that give you points. As well as blue squares that'll give you an item that'll aid in your survival.
Our reviewer called Orbitum a "stylishly stripped-back and curiously serene arcade experience that has you running on a particularly hazardous cosmic treadmill."
You can download it for free on Google Play and endure adverts as you do. Or you can go for the Pro version that costs 82p / 99c that does away with those annoying ads.
