One Punch Man: World, the highly anticipated anime action game, reveals the date of its first closed beta test

The highly anticipated action game adaptation of the popular anime series One Punch Man, titled One Punch Man World, has revealed its first CBT testing date. Come October 18th and with a small bit of luck, a select few players will be able to try their hand at donning the mantle of our bald world hero Saitama himself, tearing through various foes with, you guessed it, one punch.

One Punch Man, for the uninitiated, is an anime/manga series that doesn’t take itself seriously nearly at all. While it is a shounen anime in the vein of something like Dragon Ball Z or Bleach, it’s also a bit of a satire, with a ton of comedic elements thrown in. The main character is a man who can destroy any foe with one punch, hence the name, and the series is all about his eternal boredom with that fact. Without anyone to challenge him beyond just throwing a simple punch, he’s become jaded and tired of being a hero.

Somehow, despite the main character being extremely overpowered, the series produces some of the most exciting and hype anime fights I’ve ever seen. And that’s where One Punch Man World steps in. Crossing the lines between action game and open-world exploration, One Punch World seeks to transfer the experience of the anime right to our pockets while allowing you to play both the main character Saitama himself and all of the other side characters.

You will get to choose who you want to play as while you explore the city One Punch Man is set within, taking down various monsters and engaging in heart-pounding action fights to protect the world. Judging by the trailer, there will be a good mix of actual story events related to the main plot of the anime as well as abundant side content such as co-op battles akin to Monster Hunter or missions more like Punishing Grey Raven, all while playing as your favourite characters from the series.

So, whether you're a fan of action games or a lover of One Punch Man itself, this one looks perfect for you. You can sign up for that October 18th closed beta test by checking out the official Facebook page or the official website linked above!
