Back in April, we reported that Zeboyd Games would be stepping in to develop the previously canceled third episode of Penny Arcade's On the Rainslick Precipice of Darkness series for Android and iOS.

We are now happy to report that the old school RPG will be available sooner than expected, with the PC and Xbox versions available this Monday, June 25th. The official website for the game notes that the release dates for the Android and iOS (iPad, iPhone, and iPod Touch) versions ‘will be announced soon’.

Although there has been no announcement for the pricing of the mobile versions as yet, the Steam version is priced at $4.99.

16 bits of glory

The third installment of On The Rainslick Precipice of Darkness brings a familiar Chrono Trigger aesthetic to the franchise and the new trailer embraces this fully.

Zeboyd Games will also handle the development of the fourth and final game in the franchise, which is expected in 2013.
