Octopath Traveler: Champions of the Continent introduces a brand new character alongside a challenging tournament and other new content in latest update

Square Enix’s popular mobile gacha RPG Octopath Traveler: Champions of the Continent, which is itself a continuation of their JRPG series Octopath Traveler, has introduced a fair platter of new content for players to tackle. This new update introduces a new character to grab for your party, a new series of side stories to complete, and a tournament cup with some big prizes for those that participate!

Let’s go over the new character first. Jillmeila is a bow-wielding dark element-focused fighter. She’ll do great on your backline, as she is focused on dealing single-target damage with massive, hard-hitting attacks that all do Dark damage alongside a strong ticking Bleeding damage over time effect.

Then, we have the new side stories. These are centred around the small town of I’cirlo, the home of Orsterra’s most powerful warriors. You’ll attempt to bring peace to a wartorn land full of new threats and new characters to meet. There’s a hefty amount of lore that further fleshes out the world of Octopath Traveler here, so be sure to check these out!

The new tournament content is probably the biggest focus of this update, and centres around gathering up your party to do battle with Yunnie. A rough-and-tumble hunter, Yunni will happily fill your team with a ton of different status ailments, and can also call on her own teammates from her Evening Dawn members to tear you up. This is meant to be quite a big challenge, so be sure your party is ready to face some of the hardest content in the game yet.

And that sums up just about everything that has been freshly launched within Champions of The Continent. There is also a sweepstakes competition going on centered around the Yunnie Cup, so check out the official Twitter account for more info on that.
