Japanese studio Nude Maker has launched a Kickstarter campaign to fund the PC version of its point-and-click horror game NightCry.

As part of this, a video was uploaded to demonstrate the graphical differences between the mobile and PC versions.

You can watch the video in your browser here.

Given the low resolution of the video it may not be as easy to see the differences as you'd hope. Not to mention that different views inside the game are used instead of identical ones for easy comparison.

However, Nude Maker has said that the PC version will have the following advantages over the mobile version:

  • Detailed and natural hair animation
  • Improved shaders
  • Improved lighting and effects
  • Full facial animation & lip synching for the game's characters

All that said, there's not a huge difference between the platforms. Certainly nothing that should put you off playing it either on mobile or PS Vita.

Additionally, Nude Maker has released the game's first screenshots (go to our Screenshots tab above), and the short companion film that you can watch above (it's made by The Grudge director Takashi Shimizu).

You'll get an insight into the origins story of NightCry's monster Scissor Walker in that short film. It involves a mother and her child who were burned to death.

That's why you hear a baby's cry when Scissor Walker is nearby in the game. Pretty horrible stuff.

We also know that the woman you can see in the videos and screenshots is the main character, but that you'll also play other people.

You'll have to manage their stamina when running away from Scissor Walker around the stranded ocean liner upon which the game is set.
