Max Gentlemen

Here we have what is probably the most ridiculous game this week.

Max Gentleman involves competing either with yourself, an AI partner, or another person. In what? Balancing a stack of hats on your head. Yep.

It's an arcade game so your goal is get a top score. But that's rather difficult when you need to stack those hats on one another while dodging crows, hurled glasses of beer, and boomerangs.

It's as silly as it looks and is a lot of fun. If you have someone else you can play with the humour doubles. Especially when you shove them away from the tablet (evil laugh).

We go from competitive hat balancing to co-operative ghost dodging now. Pac-Man Friends combines stealth, puzzles, and tilt-based movement.

As Pac-Man, you need to eat the yellow dots to open up the exit in each level. Unfortunately, the ghosts often block your way.

However, Pac-Man's friends are able to sneak behind them and smash down walls, collecting the dots for him. You also need to grab keys to open locked doors and collect fruit to up your scores. Variety is one the game's greatest assets.

Your skills will be tested as you tilt your tablet or phone to control Pac-Man and his friends simultaneously. Keeping an eye on them all gets tough but making a close getaway with a ghost hot on your tail is highly rewarding.

Fans of They Need To Be Fed won't need to hear anything more about this threequel other than that it has some new surprises in store.

By and large, it's the same formula: you need to jump across platforms and dodge hazards so you can jump into a giant plant's mouth.

What They Need To Be Fed 3 adds is some unexpected variances. Most of them work, some of them don't but they're in the minority.

Being chased across the platforms by a monster as you try to master multi-directional gravity is a thrill. Oh, how I screamed and tensed up.

Panic and surprise gets laid on thick to make this platformer one you'll be squealing along to.
