Microsoft brings My Xbox Live to Android, updates iOS version with remote functionality

Microsoft's My Xbox Live iPhone and iPad application is now also available to download from Google Play for Android-powered devices, complete with most of the features its iOS counterpart now packs.

For example, you can use the app to both track and compare your Xbox Live achievements with your buddies, give your 3D avatar some new Red Sox apparel, fire off a few messages, and spruce up your profile.

Unfortunately, this new Android app doesn't boast the new features that were introduced to the iOS version just yesterday in an update, including the iPhone's new remote capabilities, which allow you to quickly launch your games and access popular media controls.

There's also a new Discover section of the app that points you in the direction of interesting new content to play.

My Xbox Live for iOS [download] and Android [download] is free.
