This morning Ustwo Games announced via Twitter some seriously big news. No, we're not getting Monument Valley 3 - we're getting a Monument Valley movie. And... I am so, so torn about it.

In case you've had your head in the sand for the last four years Monument Valley is a meditative puzzler which takes place in a series of M.C. Escher-esque levels. To make it to the end goal of each place you have to manipulate the structures in ways that don't always agree with normal physics.

So far it seems like the film will send live-action characters into a bizarre world (I guess using heavily CGI environments), which isn't exactly a far-fetched concept. Paramount Pictures and Weed Road have set Patrick Osborne, most commonly revered for his Oscar Award-winning short 'Feast', to the task.

My issue is seeing how this will come together as a whole and what the story will be like. It's always slightly risky piecing together different mediums as they can look overly complex or tacky come launch, but at least with Osborne behind the wheel you know things might well turn out amazing.

I'm going to have to wait for information on the plotline before I get excited about it, but for now I'm pleasantly curious and a teeny bit hopeful.

What do you guys think about a Monument Valley movie? Let us know in those comments below.
