Monster Boy, successor to Wonder Boy may be on its way to PS Vita and mobile
What is the secret of your power?
A peculiar teaser trailer has surfaced with Banjo Guy Ollie playing an arrangement of a familiar tune around a few lush screenshots...
Monster Boy and the Wizard of Booze hopes to bring Wonder Boy and Monster World gameplay back to our screens before too long.
We're a tad perplexed by the boozy subtitle, but most certainly intrigued.
Wonder Boy is known to retro fans as SEGA's platformer mascot long before Sonic the Hedgehog even existed.
Game Atelier (Flying Hamster HD, SunFlowers) and FDG Entertainment (Oceanhorn, Crystal Siege HD) are working with series director and designer Ryuichi Nishizawa, so fans of the series should rest assured that Monster Boy is in good hands.
At the moment, Monster Boy has been confirmed for PlayStation 4, PC, "and more" platforms. We'd guess a PS Vita cross-buy release would be likely.
When we reached out to FDG Entertainment for more details, we were told they "can't confirm anything at the moment but since we're coming from mobile business… it could very much happen."
We'll keep you informed once we know for sure.
