Modern Combat Versus will feature a simplified control scheme, out in soft launch soon

Over at TouchArcade, Gameloft spilled the bean on Modern Combat Versus, the upcoming multiplayer focused entry in the celebrated Modern Combat franchise.

The biggest improvement for this entry seems to be focused on its control scheme. Most of the virtual buttons are gone and replaced with contextual actions like a double tap on the screen to aim and an auto-firing mechanism to streamline its mechanics. As seen in the Gifs published by TouchArcade, everything seems pretty good looking and fast.

For those, like me, who aren't fond of an auto-fire, Gameloft says that a dedicated fire button and controller support will come in an update. Still, it's going to be tough to play against player using that option as they'll almost always have the advantage.

The game will feature 5 maps and 4 classes in its initial version and shouldn't have an energy system or be "pay-to-win".

In any case, Gameloft should soft-launch the game soon (presumably at least in the Philippines) so we'll keep you informed when it pops up.
