MMM Fingers 2 review - More of the same, but betterer

For: Android   Also on: iPhone, iPad

Lick them fingers

Product: Mmm Fingers 2 | Publisher: Noodlecake Games | Format: Android | Genre: Action, Arcade | Players: 1 | Version: Europe

MMM Fingers 2 is a sequel that builds on the bones of its predecessor. It's still essentially the same game, there's just a bit more going on here to keep you interested.

And that's no bad thing. Our main complaints with the original revolved around its repetitive nature, and while that's still true here, there are a few additions that mean you're likely to stick around longer.

Plus those control niggles have drifted away too. If you enjoyed the first, you're going to love this. And if you were wary of giving it a go, the sequel irons out a good chunk of its problems.

Finger trap

Once again the game stars your fingers. Push one on the screen and things start up. You need to weave a digit around a series of sharp obstacles. Get twonked by one and it's game over.

Your deaths are marked by smudges of bloody red, to show you how far you got last time and where you messed up. There's other info on the screen as well, so you're always aware of how close you are to your personal record.

But the game throws a few other modes into the mix this time round. Though they're still ostensibly the same, that little bit of variety goes a long way to making things more interesting.

There's a daily challenge mode that sees you getting three chances to tackle a level that's made up of the same monsters every time. All players get the same monsters, so it's a real challenge to see who's the best.

Then there are a series of trials. These are brief levels that last no more than a few seconds. They get tougher as you go along, and there are a whole bunch of them to try and finish off.

There are gems to collect as well. You can use these to unlock new trails. These are only cosmetic, but it's nice to get rewards for pushing deeper into the game.

Finger spinner

It might strike most of the same notes as its predecessor, but MMM Fingers 2 strikes them truer.

There's definitely a lot to enjoy here, and while it still lacks the depth of some games, it's a decent addition to any homescreen right now.

It might not have the most meat on its bones, but it's definitely an improvement on its predecessor
