Minecraft - Pocket Edition will continue to be supported despite Microsoft's $2.5 billion Mojang buyout
Vita version is still good, too
Microsoft has purchased Minecraft developer Mojang for $2.5 billion.
Good for them. But the question we had on our lips was what this meant for iOS and Android game Minecraft - Pocket Edition, and the upcoming PlayStation Vita version.
Luckily, it seems there won't be any noticeable changes.
According to Eurogamer, Microsoft's Phil Spencer said that the company will "continue to make Minecraft available across platforms - including iOS, Android and PlayStation, in addition to Xbox and PC."
Mojang mirrored Spencer's statement in its own blog post on the matter.
"There's no reason for the development, sales, and support of the PC, Mac, Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS3, PS4, Vita, iOS, and Android versions of Minecraft to stop."
There's no need to worry about the future of Minecraft - Pocket Edition or the Vita version after all, then. Phew.
