After Mark Brown's featured piece last week on what we could be expecting with Minecraft: Pocket Edition/Windows 10's newest update, Mojang has given us a proper sneak-peak as to what we should get excited about.

The elephant in the room here is obviously Mojang's new, ferocious bosses, deviously designed to make your experience that little bit harder. Given the nickname 0.16 acquired, The Boss Update, it's fairly explanatory that we can be expecting big things come its release, from big, bad bosses, new monuments to explore, and a ton of new trinkets and block beacons.

On the side of these devious mobs, we should board up the Windows (hah, computer joke) in preparation for the Elder Guardian. PC players, you'll know how challenging this guy can be, lurking around underwater monuments like a creep. We'll also be seeing our old pal, the Wither. Granted it's a challenge in itself to find or summon the thing, but once you defeat it the pay-out is well worth the fuss. Hello Nether Stars.

Mojang's also bringing in Slash commands. Though only 20 will be available, such as changing the time of day or summoning mobs, more will be coming in the future.

The Boss Update will be free to Pocket Edition, Windows 10, and Gear VR Edition players however Android players can help in testing it out in its current beta. According to their website, Mojang will be sharing more information at MINECON (September 24th -25th) so keep an eye out. We'll update you when we get more information.
