Outspoken game designer Markus "Notch" Persson has taken to Twitter to argue the ethics of free-to-play games with George Broussard, saying that free-to-play should be illegal.

Broussard, one of the creators of Duke Nukem, tweeted that "game developers who are elitist and anti-free to play games, will have to get over themselves."

Notch replied just minutes later, stating that "Free to play is bait and switch and should be illegal." He also compared free-to-play gamers to drug addicts and gamblers.

The conversation riled up a few more commenters, including Tale of Tales, who added "we recently 'got over ourselves' by quitting the game industry."

Notch previously spoke against free-to-play in a post from 2011, which said "people who think 'free to play' is a great future are mostly game developers, not game players."
