Updated on June 4th, at 17:46: Minecraft Pocket Edition has now also been updated on Android.

We've put together guides for all the new content. So, find out how to change your skin, make a boat, and go fishing.

Or, watch our video guide above for a whirlwind tour of all that's new in this latest version.

Original story follows…

Pocket Edition

Minecraft Pocket Edition has finally received that long-awaited 0.11 update that adds everything from boats and fishing, to purchasable packs of player skins.

You no longer have to play as Steve, for starters. You can play as female Minecraft hero Alex, you can pick from other free skins, import a skin file from your photos gallery, or buy skins in packs that cost 69p / 99c a pop.

You can also fashion a boat to cross large expanses of water, and a fishing rod to catch fish.

Pocket Edition also now has multiple languages, and you can change the status of worlds after you make them. Want to switch between creative and survival? Rename your world? Set a creative map to never-night? All possible.

The update is available right now for users on iPhone and iPad. As always, Mojang will update the Android edition as soon as possible. Same goes for the new Windows Phone version.
