The long-awaited update to massive sandbox indie game Minecraft - Pocket Edition, originally due for release on February 8th, has been delayed for a short amount of time.

Daniel Kaplan, business developer at Mojang, revealed on Twitter that the team had encountered - to quote - "bugs bugs bugs".

He went on to say that it could arrive today, so it's likely to be available fairly soon.

Keep on digging

The update is the first to lay the groundwork for the introduction of Survival mode to the portable edition of the game.

Although the mode itself won't feature, there will be a number of changes made behind the scenes that will enable it at a later date.

Visible additions expected to arrive with the update include animals, new blocks, and tools (albeit, not ones you can craft).

Why the fuss over one mode? Well, Survival mode is widely considered to be the reason so many millions of PC players became hooked to the indie sensation in the first place.
