Minecraft - Pocket Edition, everyone's favourite right-angled mucking about simulator, now has zombie pigman in it.

That's right: the most recent update to Mojang's hip-to-be-square phenomenon has bestowed unto you a bounty of undead bacon monsters.

There's more to this latest feature reload than mouldy swine, though. For starters, if you fancy yourself a cultured sort of player, you can now pop some cubist art on your wall using the new painting objects.

Alternatively, if that green smudge on your thumbs is moss, not paint, then you'll probably enjoy the fungus cultivation opportunities presented by the inclusion of mushroom farming.

Nether region

The Nether is also addressed in Minecraft - Pocket Edition version 0.5.0, with Mojang's mysterious Nether Reactor ready to share all manner of untold mysteries to those willing fondle its centre.

In more practical news, Minecraft - Pocket Edition should be a little more stable thanks to a bunch of tweaks and fixes.

The update log promises fewer crashes when loading maps, more regular animal respawns, and the ability to get out of bed. We're still waiting for someone to apply that last update to life.

If you're not already strutting proudly around the pixelated veranda of your very own 27-story villa built in the shape of Nyan Cat, then you can grab Minecraft - Pocket Edition on iOS and Android for £4.99 / $6.99.
