Updated on September 4th, at 11:00: The Mecho Wars remake is now live on the App Store, too. It'll cost you 69p / 99c [buy].

So, go do that, y'know, if you want to.

Original story follows...

Okay, this one might require a bit of concentration on your part.

So, put down whatever you're playing with and make sure you read the following paragraphs carefully.

Mecho Wars first came out on the App Store in 2009. We gave it a Bronze Award at review and stated that the game was good but felt a little underdone.

It's a riff on the Advance Wars style of strategy, with cute cartoon graphics hiding a surprisingly deep battle system.

A variety of updates to Mecho Wars followed, with the dev adding online play and correcting a lot of the problems we had with the game in the first place. And then Mecho Wars was pulled from the App Store.

Well, the game is now back. Sort of, anyway.

A polished and preened version of Mecho Wars has popped up on the Google Play Store. And its outspoken developer, Luc Bernard, has told us that this new remake will be up on the App Store soon.

So, that's a developer making a remake of a game he's already made. You got that?

You can grab the new Mecho Wars from the Google Play Store for £1.31 [buy] right now. We'll let you know as soon as it turns up on the App Store.
