Race your way towards earning Yoshi

The second part of Mario Kart Tour's New York adventure is available now

Mario Kart Tour has had an interesting start to its debut in the world. It has amassed over 20 million downloads on release but it's Gold Subscription Pass has received a fair bit of criticism. None of that appears to have deterred their roadmap yet though as part two of the New York Tour is now available.

Part two of the New York Tour will be available from now until 9th October and it sees the addition of new challenges and the cups have also changed. Once you've completed them you'll earn various -game rewards such as badges, Grand Stars and rubies. The challenges themselves are also presented in a little grid and you'll earn coins each time you complete three challenges in a horizontal, diagonal or vertical line.

A change in the tour also means that there will be a new Tour Gift for collecting Grand Stars. This time around it's the best Mario character – Yoshi. If you amass 295 Grand Stars you'll earn yourself the little green fellow. Additionally, if for whatever reason you've opted to get the Gold Pass you'll also be able to grab yourself Metal Mario by getting 250 Grand Stars.

There's also some new Spotlight content on offer too. This is where you'll have an increased chance of getting various characters, gliders and karts. First up there'll be Mario in his musician form. This version of the moustachioed plumber has the special skill of Double Bob-ombs.

The kart under the spotlight will be the Blue Badwagon, which gives you more points for each Mini-Turbo you do. Finally, the glider you'll have an increased chance to grab is the Bullet Bill Parachute which, somewhat unsurprisingly increases the odds that you'll get the Bullet Bill item from Item Boxes.

Mario Kart Tour is available now on the App Store and Google Play. It is a free-to-play game with in-app purchases. If you're looking for tips and tricks we've got a few guides ready to help you out.
