Spearhead Games’s old skool action-RPG Mana Chronicles is out now on the Android Market.

The game plays more like a scrolling beat-‘em-up from the early '90s than any recognisable RPG you could mention. You walk from left to right mashing the 'attack' button, throwing in the odd special move when the circumstances permit.

As with many games these days, RPG elements are introduced through the ability to level up. This is an automatic process that serves to up your attacking stats once you’ve accrued enough experience points.

It’s all presented in a colourful anime-influenced style, with spiky-haired protagonists and impossibly OTT explosions of light whenever you launch an attack. Just the way we like it.

Mana Chronicles is out now on the Android Market for £1.40. Keep your eyes peeled for our review.
