Hungarian developer isTom Games claims this stylistic choice is part of an effort to revitalise the light gun shooters of our childhoods.
Being stuck in the past may also explain Mad Bullets's false and negative depictions of Native Americans. Tribesmen are presented here as savages, while the women are overtly sexualised objects that need rescuing.
Besides those problematic misrepresentations, Mad Bullets appears to be a vibrant on-rails shooter with energy packed into its levels.
Bullets slowly fly towards your face as if you were watching a 3D movie. Unique events such as barrels tumbling down slopes and snakes jumping out from grass should keep you on your toes.
