Lords Mobile: how to unlock and upgrade your troops to Tier 5

IGG’s mega-hit Lords Mobile is celebrating its 4th anniversary. In the past four years, millions of players have forged their own mighty kingdoms. Countless guilds have been created, rallied, zeroed and rebuilt to claim victory. Armies of troops have been trained up from fresh-out-of-the-barracks to Tier 2, 3 and 4.

Now there’s a new tier to work towards. The Lords Mobile anniversary update introduces Tier 5, promising your troops room to grow even stronger. Here’s how you unlock it — plus what else you should look forward to in this latest update.

Build a Lunar Foundry

Lunar Foundries produce and store Lunite, a vital resource for upgrading troops to Tier 5. In order to build a Lunar Foundry, you’ll need to have reached Academy level 25 and completed Lunar Foundry research. Providing those boxes are ticked, the next step is to clear Skirmish 2, unlocking the Lustrous Mine. Tapping the Lustrous Mine will let you build your kingdom its very own Lunar Foundry.

Craft Luminous Gear

The Lunite produced by your newly opened Lunar Foundry is for crafting Luminous Gear — the special gear that transforms Tier 4 troops into Tier 5. As well as Lunite, you’ll need to stockpile plenty of the five main Lords Mobile resources: food, timber, ore, stones and gold. Once you’ve gathered the requisite resources, you can get crafting. If you’re in a hurry, use the new Speed Up items to reduce crafting time.

Unlock Tier 5 types

Now you might be able to craft Luminous Gear, but it’s all for naught if you haven’t researched one or more troop types up to Tier 5. Invest in research for your Ranged, Cavalry, Infantry and Siege types to get them ready. Then you’ll be able to apply Luminous Gear to your troops via the Barracks and begin building your battalion of Tier 5 fighters.

Heal your Tier 5 troops

Powerful as they may be, Tier 5 troops aren’t invincible; when they are wounded, you’ll need the Lunite produced by your Lunar Foundry to heal them via the Infirmary.

More anniversary goodies

There will be a range of bonuses available to players during the anniversary event, helping to jump-start your Tier 5 research and resource gathering. Firstly, there’s Research Rush, a discount of 30% on time and resources. Then there are the log-in gifts. Simply log in daily for the eight days of the event period to receive a different reward each day, ranging from Archaic Tomes and Birthday Crowns to Speed Ups and Winged Boots. IGG has announced more exciting updates on the way, including upgrades to servers, hero models and graphics.
