Lords Mobile raised $20K for War Child in November

Lords Mobile developer IGG has confirmed that the game’s player base raised $20,000 (£15,700) for War Child UK last month, thanks to a team-up between the game developer and the charity origination.

From 8-16 November, the special War Child pack was sold through the strategy MMORPG to mark Armistice Day and part of the proceeds were donated directly to the charity.

The initiative is part of a wider scheme to raise €250,000 (£224,000) for War Child UK by the end of the month, and the final total generated will be announced in January. IGG lent its name to the campaign to raise awareness of War Child’s work, which involves helping children caught up in armed conflicts across the globe.

The money raised through Lords Mobile will help provide protection, education and protracted livelihood support for youngsters in countries including Afghanistan, Iraq, Yemen, Jordan, Uganda, Democratic Republic of Congo and the Central African Republic.

Enric Cabestany, general manager of IGG Europe said: “It’s part of our social responsibility to help those in need and to raise awareness for those children who have been forgotten.”

As part of the Armistice Day campaign, IGG also raised awareness of the charity’s work on its social media accounts and sent in-game messages to players to spread the word.
