Lineage II: Revolution tips and tricks - Creating the best character for you

So you’re about to get started in that hot new mobile MMORPG, Lineage II: Revolution? Need some help building your first character, or you’re looking to build a second? Don’t worry, we’ve got the advice you need.

Here you’ll find a few tips on building the best character which suits you, including advice on arts, appearance and classes, of course.

Just take a look below and let us know in the comments what your favourite part of Lineage II: Revolution is so far!

Winning the race

Picking which race to play as is the first step in Lineage II: Revolution. You get to choose from Human, Elf, Dark Elf or Dwarf.

Humans have well-rounded stats and you can basically throw them into any class type happily, while the cute lolita Dwarf has more HP and defence than anything, making them well suited to melee roles, particularly the Warrior class.

Elves meanwhile have high evasion, making them suited for Rogues, and Dark Elves have good magical abilities, making great Mystics.

Any race can be built into any class you want, mind, and the different stats will only really impact how the game begins for you.

Class considerations

The three basic classes are Warrior, Rogue and Mystic, and they basically play out the way you probably think.

Warrior is a tank who takes damage, Rogues evade and get critical hits, while Mystics use spells from a distance.

But more importantly, each class gets to choose an upgraded class at level 31, and each race has different classes to change into, which focus on one of the classes’ abilities.

Warrior will be split into tanks and damage dealers, for example, and Rogues are split into dagger users and bow mains. Luckily you can check which classes are best at what, and even check which arts they’ll be using in that new class.

Art of war

Those arts are one of the more important factors to think about when putting your character together.

Base classes will have the same arts across all races - aside from the Human Mystic, who randomly gets an extra spell - but then characters deviate pretty heavily once they hit level 31 and upgrade their class.

Of course the arts you use will be there to compliment the class you’ve chosen, so while you’re a Mystic you’ll get a basic variety of spells, but then when you hit 31 and upgrade to either a Healer or DPS focused class, your arts will change to adapt to your new class, too.

Keep this in mind if you want to build a certain type of character, IE tank, healer or DPS, when selecting your class upgrade.

Appearances matter

High character stats are nice, but ultimately, this is your character, and you should build the character you want, appearances included!

The race you pick also denotes their gender - basically, Humans and Dark Elves are always male, while Elves and Dwarves are always female. This will, of course, also effect the appearance of armour pieces you equip.

Picking the best stats is good practice of course, but if your character doesn’t reflect your personality you won’t like them that much anyway. Ultimately, you should pick the character you want to make, not solely based on looks, but we’d be lying if that didn’t impact the end result for most of us.

At least you get to pick from three hairstyles for each race, and of course, once you get playing you can start customising your character with your own weapons and armour!
