Cute match-3 F2P plushie puzzler Disney Tsum Tsum has been released globally on iOS and Android

LINE and Disney have launched free-to-play puzzle game Disney Tsum Tsum globally on iOS and Android today.

Disney Tsum Tsum is the top free app in Japan right now and you can see why upon playing it.

It plays like many other match-3 games in that you have to draw lines to match and eliminate Tsums (which are based on Disney plushies), which scores you points.

If matching Tsums are too far apart then you can't draw a line between them. This is why it can be handy to turn on the tilt functionality and shuffle the Tsums by shaking your phone.

If you manage to match seven or more of the same Tsum then a bubble will appear. You can pop this bubble by tapping it, and it may offer more coins, double score, or other power-ups.

Doing well unlocks Fever Mode that lets you match quicker and increases the points you'll get for each one. Plus, there are disco lights for a short duration.

After a short while the timer will run to zero and your score will be tallied. Scores translate into coins that are used to purchase multipliers before you start your next match.

You also use the coins to purchase presents that contain a random Tsum. The Tsums each have unique powers that you can use during a match. Mickey Mouse clears the centre of the screen, for example.

Tsums also level up each match so that their power becomes stronger. If a box you purchase has a Tsum you've already unlocked inside it then it will level up that Tsum further.

Disney Tsum Tsum is a fluffy puzzler that's quite a bit of fun to play. You might even call it quite refreshing as far as match-3 puzzlers go.

You can download Disney Tsum Tsum for free on the App Store [download] and Google Play [download] right now.
