Rumour: LG Optimus 3D being unveiled at MWC later this month
|

The seemingly inevitable march into the third dimension on all electronic devices is underway, with new rumours suggesting that LG is readying a huge dual-core 3D handset, the Optimus 3D, for the Mobile World Congress in two weeks' time.

An unnamed source (I may start calling him ‘Harry’) has leaked a photo purported to be the mysterious handset to Phandroid, and has included a note about the specs as well. He’s nice is Harry.

The Optimus 3D is apparently running a dual-core CPU (which may or may not be the rumoured Tegra 3D chip), and a gigantic screen that comes in at larger than four inches.

For reference, that image up there is of a full-sized adult hand holding said handset.

The Optimus 3D may well turn out to be the unnamed handset that made its debut at CES in January.

At the same event, the CEO of LG, Dr Jong-seok Park, appeared to be very keen on pushing the technology, stating there was 'tremendous growth potential in the 3D mobile display market'.

Whether or not it is that particular handset, or whether the majority of mobile users will care about growing the mobile 3D market, is whole different kettle of three-dimensional fish.
