Enhanced version of Silver Award winner Knights of Pen & Paper will contain 'new features, improvements, and content'

Brazilian developer Behold Studios has joined forces with publisher Paradox Interactive to release a new version of meta-RPG Knights of Pen & Paper.

This updated version of Behold Studios's pixel-art quest-'em-up, entitled Knights of Pen & Paper +1 Edition, will include "new features, improvements, and content."

The original game, which appeared on iOS and Android late last year, represented an attempt on the part of Behold Studios to bridge the gap between old-fashioned dice-based role-playing titles and digital RPGs.

Unusually, rather than simply create a hero to explore a fantasy realm, players of Knights of Pen & Paper can also choose characters to conduct the actual role playing.

These player avatars are displayed sitting around a table with a Dungeon Master. This Dungeon Master then issues quests for your avatar's hero to complete.

We were generally impressed by Behold Studios's interesting take on classic role-playing games, and promptly gave Knights of Pen & Paper a Pocket Gamer Silver Award.

Though Behold Studios and Paradox have been pretty vague regarding Knights of Pen & Paper +1 Edition's new features, we'll be interested to see what they bring to the table.

Expect Knights of Pen & Paper +1 Edition to wander onto iOS and Android sometime before June.
