Banned dogfighting game sneaks back onto the Android Market

After stirring controversy with Dog Wars, which Google pulled from the Android Market last week, you’d have thought developer Kage Games would be a little more subtle about returning its game to Google's app store.

However, a glance reveals that the renamed KG Dogfighting is exactly the same game as before, right down to the blood-splattered lettering on the main page.

What has changed is the description, which now contains a long reaction to the initial outcry.

"We appreciate everyone's thoughts about our app as we are firm believers in the right to free speech and the free exchange of ideas," writes Kage Games.

"These freedoms are the building blocks of the Google Android operating system and the very reason so many users choose Google Android over the alternative."

Interestingly, a Google spokesperson talking to the LA Times has said that the original game wasn’t removed because of any content issues, but because of "copyright infringement", which suggests that this new version is in no danger of being removed just yet, despite the very debatable content.
