Mega Man creator launches J.J. Rockets: a mutant-shooting Android side-scroller starring the president
Hail to the chief
Keiji Inafune, the former head of R&D at Capcom and creator of the Mega Man franchise, has released a new game on Android.
It's called J.J. Rockets, and it stars the President of the United States in a star-spangled superhero costume. Sadly, it's not actually Barack Obama under the latex suit. Nevertheless, the head of state jets off to protect the land of the free from mutants.
It's a side-scrolling shooter, much like Mega Man, and levels are super-short: you only get three minutes to hunt down and defeat the big boss baddie at the end of the stage.
Inafune collaborated with Marvelous AQL (Harvest Moon: A New Beginning) on the game, which has been published by Mobage. It's also coming to iPhone in the near future.
It's free to download, with in-app purchases for extra items. You'll need a Mobage account to play, which sounds like it's only going to work if you're in Japan, sadly. Here's the Google Play link if you want to give it a go, anyway.
Inafune is also working on Soul Sacrifice for PS Vita and Kaio: King of Pirates for Nintendo 3DS at his new company, Comcept.
