DiCaprio film Inception gets mazey Android game

As is now the defacto standard, all cutting-edge Hollywood sci-fi films have to be backed by some sort of game. It's the law.

And so it is that the Christopher Nolan-directed, Leonardo DiCaprio-starring Inception has its on web game, which you can find over at the Inception Mind Crime website (Unity browser plug-in required).

Thinking man's route

It's a neat conceptual mixture of strategy and action as you're providing with a grid on which you set down a path - from A to B. In the context of the movie, you're creating a maze that can be used to extract important information from your target, apparently.

This is then transformed into a city map, populated with people you have to avoid as you try to make it from A to B as quickly as possible. There are various versions of the game, involving different graphics and more elaborate gameplay.

But it's not just available for web as - thanks to the Unity for Android engine (we assume) - the game's also exclusively available for Verizon's Droid and Droid Incredible devices. If you have one, it can be found for free in the Android Market.

Alternatively, make do and check out the webgame here.

Inception opens in the US on July 16.
