There isn't a ton of complexity to experimental rhythm game Incandescence, but if you're looking for some passive fun, it's out now for free on iOS and Android, and Windows Phone.

Inspired by the developer's own impulsive finger-drumming habit, the goal of Incandescence is to simply tap and drum on a dynamic neon crystal, to the beat of the music.

It can feel very passive at times, with no real strategy other than following the beat, so those with terrible rhythm might find it challenging.

I think our very own Chris Priestman described it best in his hands-on look from earlier this month: "As it is, Incandescence might feel a little like a 'free mode' without the rest of the game attached."

Still, the music and visuals are neat, and it's a free app with non-intrusive ads.

If you're looking for some idle entertainment that offers a bit more feedback than drumming away at your desk, check out Incandescence on iOSAndroid, and Windows Phone.
