HeroCraft has confirmed that the Pocket Gamer Bronze Award-winning iPhone and iPad title Ice Rage will soon be skating its way onto Android-, Symbian-, and bada-powered devices.

For those of you who've yet to see this excellent title in action, it's an extremely simple arcade-style skating game in which you take to the ice and attempt to score more goals than your AI- or buddy-controlled opponent.

Yes, that's right. Besides goalkeepers, it's a one-on-one battle to the death. Well, sort of. You play until the game's clock counts down to zero. Kinda the same, then.

Lancing on Ice

The Ice Rage property has been licensed to HeroCraft by Mountain Sheep, so it's hardly surprising to see some of the company's most recognisable characters make it onto the game's roster, including the Bike Baron (from Bike Baron) and John Gore (from Minigore).

"We receive mail from eager Ice Rage fans almost daily asking for an Android version so I know this release is going to make [a] great many players happy," Kimmo Vihola, Mountain Sheep's MD, said.

"HeroCraft's experience in developing games for Android, Symbian, and bada made the decision about the partnership an easy one for us."

Ice Rage will hit Android first sometime in Q4 2012.
