I Dig It: Journey to the Core coming in mid-April with dynamic drilling puzzles

Do you still dig it? The Silver Award-winning I Dig It, that is.

I hope you do, because we've found out that semi-sequel I Dig It: Journey to the Core is coming out in mid-April, thanks to developer InMotion Software and publisher Team Chaos.

So you'll be drilling into the Earth to navigate underground mazes and collect treasure as always. But what makes Journey to the Core different is its procedurally generated levels and dynamic fluids.

This allows for emergent puzzles that will be different every time you play.

Drill bit

Let's say you needed to save a miner, but a wall of lava was in the way. You could drill around to find a pocket of water, and then drain it in to the lava to cool it and create igneous rock.

Now you can get to the miner safety and bring him back to the surface. That's just one example, and when you next play that same level, it could be a completely different scenario.

With the money you make in the game, you'll be able to customise your digger to match your playstyle, too.

I Dig It: Journey to Core the will launch with five environments and 75 levels. We have a few screenshots for you to look at in the top right corner.

Other than that, all we know is that you can expect I Dig It: Journey to the Core to arrive in mid-April.
