Horizon Chase, the '90s-style arcade racer, is out right now on Android [Update]
Updated on November 19th at 14:15: It's Thursday, which can only mean one thing - it's race day.

Yep, you can download Horizon Chase for free on Google Play right now.

Have at it.

Original story follows...

Oh, goody goody. Gold Award-winning arcade racer Horizon Chase is coming to Android this Thursday, November 19th.

This one turned out to be a right treat. It recalls racers from the '90s, particularly those splashed in sunshine, and has you racing around the world at high-speed.

You'd hope promises like that would be enough to convince people to buy the game on Android but developer Aquiris Game Studio isn't convinced.

"[O]n a platform [such] as Google Play, well-known for being unquestionably dominated by Free-to-Play games, it's very hard to monetize for premium games as ours," Aquiris said.

The temptation is to presumably offer a free to play version of Horizon Chase on Android. But the studio refuses to bow to that demand.

Instead, it will be offering up a trial version with five circuits to try out for free.

Aquiris is hoping that after players have tried it out they'll be convinced to buy the full game for £1.99 / $2.99. That opens the game up to all eight cups, 32 cities, 73 tracks, and 16 unlockable cars.

Hopefully that try-before-you-buy system works out for the Android version of the game.

Oh, and Aquiris also says that Horizon Chase will be coming to Amazon (presumably the Appstore), Windows Phone, PC, and PlayStation 4 in the future.
