Sometimes all I want to do is just swallow the world. Everything in sight, edible or inedible, just choke it down and let it digest.

Finally, with Hole.io, my dreams and wishes are fulfilled. I want eat everything, everyone, and they can't actually do much about it.

Playing as a hole, you want to grow and swallow and entire city. And other holes. It's not complicated, it is kind of weird, but in a Katamari Damacy kind of way, it's hard to put down. Here's everything you need to know about playing Hole.io…

1
Hungry hungry holes

Hole.io is all about swallowing things whole. Or, hole. I could use hole puns throughout this guide really but I'm going to avoid it, so just assume this one was a repeated a lot in these tips.

You play as a hole. You slide your finger around the screen in a small city block, and anything that can fit into your hole, will.

Things will start small, but after you swallow a few small items - bins, poles, people - you'll grow, and snowball into a world-swallowing invincible being. But you've got to swallow up as much as possible before the competition to get there.

A trip to the park

The small park areas are actually wonderful for a budding black hole wishing to grow larger. There's smaller fence posts that can be swallowed by the smallest hole size, and larger walls, trees, fences and benches for when you grow.

It's a smorgasbord for a small event horizon looking to grow into a cataclysmic event. And if you get here before any other hole? Oh yeah, you can shoot into the lead like this.

Of course, knowledge of the map layout, and where you can find the park, will also be helpful to grow as quickly as possible.

Driven to the abyss

Once you've emptied the park out, you can take to the streets. Namely, all of the cars that drive the streets. Just literally run into oncoming traffic. Points galore.

Same goes for the path ways too - you might not see anything obvious to absorb, but if you wind yourself around the paths you'll find yourself grabbing up people and posts that you might not instantly spot.

Judge the worth of the path by how many points you see popping out of your hole - oh, and don't forget to get the paths which are just behind buildings, where others are least likely to go hunting.

Live in the dark

It's all well and good to focus on your own growth, but if you want to come out on top, sometimes you'll need to stifle the growth of others.

Two minutes seem like a pretty generous time limit at first, but if you spend 40 seconds struggling waiting to respawn? That will hamper your progress, so it's exactly what you should do to others.

You can swallow other black holes. Like, yeah, I know that would probably tear the planet apart, but let's ignore that for now. Any smaller hole than your own can get swallowed up, and then will have to wait to respawn. A terrible fate for anyone trying to catch up.

Event horizon

Eventually you'll come to a point where you're swallowing up entire building blocks, and that's where things get fun.

Make sure you don't get too many items at once stuck in your hole though - you can get jammed and that will just end up slowing your progress.

So make sure you've got plenty of room to swallow those larger objects, don't be afraid to choke down other holes, and all in all, you'll be prepared to end the world. Finally.
