Agent 47 arrives on NVIDIA SHIELD in the critically acclaimed, Hitman: Absolution

The fifth major instalment in the popular Hitman stealth action series, Hitman: Absolution, is now available to stream on NVIDIA SHIELD via GeForce NOW. The game is part of the basic membership package, so if you’re already a GeForce NOW member you can play the game at no extra charge. In Hitman: Absolution, the star of the show is, once again, the enigmatic assassin Agent 47 appearing in a game that has been hailed as one of the best in the franchise. The game boasts an intriguing storyline of betrayal and redemption that’s beautifully rendered using the second generation Glacier 2 graphics engine.
After discovering that his previous handler Diana Burnwood has betrayed the International Contract Agency, a reformed ICA tasks Agent 47 with killing Diana while also acquiring an asset: a teenage girl named Victoria. On confronting Diana, 47 discovers the truth about Victoria and vows to protect her, in the process becoming a traitor of the ICA and a hunted man.
Along with the stunningly detailed visuals and action, Hitman: Absolution also features a sweeping cinematic aesthetic, a rich storyline and professionally voiced characters who bring Agent 47’s shady world vividly to life.
When developing the game it was the developer’s intention to create a more accessible experience while also retaining some of the series’ more hardcore elements. One notable change is the freedom of choice players have in approaching each mission. Players who aren’t afraid to get their hands dirty can attack and kill characters in a bewildering array of ways. Firearms, garrottes, bricks and bottles can all be used to achieve you aims. In addition, environmental elements can be used to distract or injure your enemies. Poisoning, planting explosives and causing the scenery to collapse are all options that are on the table.
Alternatively, players can take a more stealthy approach, avoiding combat altogether and utilizing disguises in order to melt into the crowd and more easily reach their ultimate mark. If you choose to play the stealth game you can take advantage of Agent 47’s new Instinct Mode that enables him to predict the movement of his enemies, find new ways to kill and master weaponry to a high level.
Alongside the superbly scripted single-player mode sits the equally brilliant online Contracts Mode. Here players are free to select any level they want, place target characters, select the available arsenal of weapons and the methods of assassination then share their creation online with friends or with the wider Hitman community. Any money you earn from your creations can be used to buy additional weapons, upgrades and disguises.
