Google Pixel cases: treat your Pixel 2 to a new jacket
Product: Hardware Group Test | Publisher: Steel Media Ltd | Format: Android
Google's second stab at a proper flagship phone has proved a little divisive, largely thanks to a few screen issues with the larger Pixel 2XL.

But make no mistake - both phones are fine Android machines with excellent performance, slick software, and arguably the best cameras on the market.

They're not what you'd call cheap though, so a case might be a smart bet. Here are a few that will tuck your new Pixel 2 up nice and snug.

It's worth noting that the two pixels have rather different designs, owing to the fact that they're built by different manufacturers, and it doesn't always pan out that a case is readily available for both.

Google Pixel 2 Case

It's worth starting with Google's own case provisions, because they're quite lovely. This standard case comes in a range of attractive tailored material designs that won't interfere with the Pixel 2's squeeze-activated shortcut.

Suggested price: £35

Google Live Case

A more standard plastic case with a protective dual-layer design, the main selling point of the Google Live Case is the way you can have any photo or image you like printed on the cover - or even a beautiful Google Earth landscape.

Suggested price: £30

UAG Plasma Series Case

You can always depend on UAG to provide an ultra-rugged case for your flagship phone. These things are built to last, with a military drop-test rating of MIL STD 810G 516.6, rugged button covers, and a shock-absorbing honeycomb design.

Suggested price: £30

Ringke Fusion

If you're after an unobtrusive transparent case for your Pixel 2, check out the Ringke Fusion. It too has MIL-STD 810G - 516.6 certified military grade drop protection, but it aims to let the phone's design shine through.

Spigen Thin Fit

One of Spigen's more restrained offerings, the Thin Fit lives up to its name with a no-nonsense minimalist fit. However, it also supports magnetic car mounts thanks to a QNMP compatible slot.

Suggested price: £10

Caseology Vault

Here's another case that's been military drop tested. The Caseology Vault is rugged, with a thick "three-dimensional textured cover" and button covers, yet it also remains squeeze compatible.

Suggested price: £10

Bellroy Leather Case

If you want the equivalent of Apple's iPhone Leather Cases for your Google Pixel 2, you can't do much better than a Bellroy. They have a similar high level of fit and finish, as well as a slim profile and soft microfiber lining.

Suggested price: £35

MNML Thin Case

Maybe all of the above are just too chunky for you, and all you really want is something to fend off the light bumps, scrapes and fingerprints of everyday usage. The MNML Thin Case keeps things super-slight at just 0.35mm thick, and effectively acts as a second skin.
