Samsung Galaxy S7/S7 Edge cases: make sure your Sammy is covered
Product: Hardware Group Test | Publisher: Steel Media Ltd | Format: Android

Updated 29th July: More Galaxy S7 cases added.

Samsung had one particularly massive failure in 2016 with the exploding Galaxy Note 7 debacle. But don't forget that it also launched two brilliant phones in the Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge.

The Galaxy S8 is out now, of course, but the Galaxy S7 is far from finished. It's still a going concern for Samsung (and a whole bunch of retailers), which is unsurprising.

Both 2016 phones are a delight to look at, capable of withstanding full submersion in water, have some of the best displays and cameras on the market, and remain extremely powerful.

Needless to say, the Galaxy S7 family has been a huge seller for Samsung, spawning a healthy case scene. Here are just some of the excellent cases on the market.

Spigen Liquid Crystal

A really simple, form-fitting clear case that does its level best to stay out of the way of the Galaxy S7's top notch industrial design. The trade off is that the Spigen Liquid Crystal doesn't offer the protection of the more rugged cases - but the buttons are covered and there's a front lip to help protect the screen.

Suggested price: £7.50

OtterBox Symmetry

The OtterBox Symmetry doesn't mess around with gimmicky designs, but nor does it worry too much about spoiling the S7's skinny profile. This is a chunky-but-plain case that will keep the phone snug and safe from otherwise calamitous droppages.

Suggested price: £23
Buy from Amazon

Ringke Fusion

The Ringke Fusion doesn't just preserve the look of your Galaxy S7 with its all-clear design. It also protects the ports from lint with its dust caps. It's also very cheap.

Suggested price: £7

Moshi iGlaze

Moshi's case lends an extra dose of style to an already pretty-darned-stylish phone. It's got a tough three-piece design with a shock-absorbant inner shell, but the outer layer comprises of vegan leather and brushed aluminium. Sharp.

Suggested price: £28

Samsung Galaxy S7 Clear View Cover

This is a clever little case from Samsung. Its a folio case - which means it offers all-round protection and opens like a book - but its opaque cover allows you to see the lockscreen information underneath.

Suggested price: £18
Buy from Amazon

i-Blason Armorbox

Perhaps the Galaxy S7 is just too pretty for you. Maybe you want it to look like it could catch a bullet for you. If that's you, the i-Blason Armorbox is waiting for your call. Indeed, it follows through on its tough looks with a chunky shock-absorbing core and an uncommon front cover component.

Suggested price: £15

Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Protective SView Case Cover

Got the swanky Edge model? It's pretty, but those edges sure do look exposed. You can currently grab Samsung's own folio case, complete with a little cut-out viewing window, for a good price online.

Suggested price: £23

Speck CandyShell

The Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge present a bit of a predicament. They're beautiful phones, so you want to show off their good looks, but you also want to wrap them up in cotton wool for the same reasons. Enter the Speck CandyShell - a completely transparent case that provides military-grade protection.

Suggested price: £25
Buy from Amazon

Spigen Slim Armor

You know the Spigen Slim Armor means business with its rugged looks, military-grade air cushion, dual layer protection protection, and a raised lip that protects the screen. But it also has a handy kickstand, so you can watch videos hands-free.

Suggested price: £15
Buy from Amazon

Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Protective Keyboard Case Cover

Here's an interesting novelty from Samsung for those who pine after their old BlackBerry - a protective case that incorporates a physical keyboard. Slide it into place on the bottom third of the Galaxy S7 Edge, and the screen will automatically resize to suit.

Suggested price: £35
Buy from Amazon

LifeProof Fre

The Samsung Galaxy S7 is already waterproof and dustproof. But is it lifeproof? Bung it in the LifeProof Fre and it will be, thanks to an oversized bumper and a chunky design that seems to swallow up much of the phone.

Suggested price: £51
Buy from Amazon

Vena vCommute

This case has a novel vintage camera style to it, but it's not a case of style over substance. It also features a kickstand for watching video on the go and a wallet compartment on the back.

Suggested price: £15
Buy from Amazon

Caseology Wavelength

Caseology is known for making distinctively styled, well fitted cases that don't cost much money. The Wavelength for the S7 family is no different, with a grippy 'wave' design and a nice range of colour combinations.

Suggested price: £12
Buy from Amazon

Otterbox Defender

Otterbox has a good reputation for offering really rugged phone cases. The Defender has three-layer protection, port covers to prevent dirt ingress, and a belt clip holster that doubles as a kickstand.

Suggested price: £21
Buy from Amazon

Shieldon Flip Book Case

A nice genuine leather folio case that will protect your Galaxy S7's gorgeous screen when it's sat in a pocket or bag. You can also align the cover so that it props the phone for hands-free video-watching.

Suggested price: £21
