There are few games around that command such reverence and devotion as Valve's Half-Life.

We've seen the game rebuilt in the Source engine for PC, and now it looks like a group of enthusiasts have taken it upon themselves to do the same in Unity 3D.

This in-development game might be called Half-Life Mobile or Black Mesa Mobile. Either way, however, it's neither an official port of Half-Life nor of the Black Mesa remake project.

Half-Life Mobile is, in fact, being built by a team of Russian developers, who plan to release the game for Android and iOS at some point in the future.

You can check out the game's iconic train opening running on an Android below.

Despite question marks still over the legality of this endeavour, it's pretty impressive to see one of the most well-known FPS games running on a smartphone.

There are a couple of screenshots of other sections of the game in the gallery at the top of this post, too.

Whether Half-Life Mobile will ever turn up on the App Store or the Google Play Store remains to be seen. It's further proof, mind, that people STILL love Half-Life 15 years on.
