Guitar Hero waiting backstage at the Android Market

Music gaming sensation to be one of the first paid apps

Guitar Hero waiting backstage at the Android Market

The launch of paid apps on the Android Market is so imminent we can taste it. It tastes like metallic techno-strawberries.

In anticipation of the second big online app store, Activision has announced the impending debut of its Guitar Hero franchise for Google’s platform, featuring tracks from the likes of Deep Purple (Smoke on the Water) and Guns ‘n’ Roses (Welcome to the Jungle).

As you’d expect, the game will follow in the footsteps of the iPhone’s Tap Tap Revenge, requiring you to drum along to the music on the handset’s touchscreen.

Should the game prove to be its usual successful self, we can expect a host of themed sequels almost immediately, judging by Activision’s typical MO. Keep your ear pressed up to the speaker for more news as we get it.

Yes. Spanner's his real name, and he's already heard that joke you just thought of. Although Spanner's not very good, he's quite fast, and that seems to be enough to keep him in a regular supply of free games and away from the depressing world of real work.
