A brand new trippy scrabble-like puzzler entitled Gubbins is making its way to iOS and Android come November 14th! This unique twist on the puzzle genre is a game all about creating words while navigating around helpful and destructive creatures called Gubbins.

Gubbins is best described as a solo scrabble, though that doesn’t entirely do it justice. You do get an assortment of tiles to play onto a board, but from there, things get pretty wacky. The titular Gubbins are a collectable assortment of creatures who can both help and hinder you in creating the most impressive words using the space on the board, and each brings a unique ability.

These abilities can range from things like completely destroying a letter you placed to slightly moving a letter around, and many, many others. They’re all adorable and strange little guys, each built to match the sort of trippy and psychedelic vibe that encapsulates Gubbins as a whole. All-in-all, it’s one of the most unique-looking puzzle games I’ve seen in a minute.

But if all of that hasn’t sold you, perhaps the popularity of the game will. See, Gubbins caught the attention of the social media platform TikTok in spades, and more specifically, the eye of the legendary young adult author Hank Green, who then went on to invest his own money into the game because he loved what he saw!

And if that still isn’t enough for you, then perhaps the fact that 10% of Gubbin’s revenue will be going directly towards charity will! Lots of reasons to check this one out, if not solely because it’s contributing towards a great cause.

If you are sold on Gubbins entirely, you can check it out when it launches on November 14th!
