Never one to miss a trick when it comes to making similiar games of popular titles, Gameloft has today released its Farmville-inspired title Green Farm onto the Android Market for free.

Originally a Facebook game (you could have guessed that one), Green Farm arrived on iPhone and Java earlier in the year, so it was pretty inevitable that it would blossom onto the Android field at some point.

In the game, you play John “Iron” Orr, a grizzled ex-space marine with a tortured past on a quest to avenge his dead daughter Karen, slain by his one-time best friend Lt. Frank “Screwball” Pitcher.

No, you don’t really - you actually play a creepy-looking cartoon farmer, who spends most of his / her time tending plants, feeding sheep, and sitting about.

As with all Farmville clones, Green Farm makes you wait for the good stuff (the good stuff being virtual currency). For some reason, though, the Android version of the game doesn’t link up to your existing Facebook farm, which is a bit odd.

Nevertheless, if you think that all sounds like your cup of tea, then you can download the game from the Android Market for free right now (download).
